Christian Science Monitor: Mitch Daniels Out, Where Are GOP Candidates?

Source: Christian Science Monitor

From the link:

Citing family considerations, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels says he will not run for president. That leaves the rest of the GOP field angling for position at a time when many Republicans are less than thrilled with the current choices.
So what do "Republicans" want? I cannot understand this.

Do they want a facade, like Obama's "rock star" image he projected before his run, or substance? A facade works in the short term, like Obama, but fades over time as the proverbial polish starts to erode.

What the Republicans need to do:

  • Find a candidate with a consistent record.
  • Find a strong candidate who can speak well, present themselves well and debate well.
  • Find a candidate with no skeletons in the closet or potential bad, distracting press.
  • Find a candidate to bring back Republican values.
Looking right now, it's very bland for many Republicans who are looking for a "facade" candidate like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann. I'm not picking on these women because they are women, trust me, I have the utmost respect for women since I was raised by women most of my childhood. My issues with Palin is she crowned herself the "Queen of the Tea Party" and Michele Bachmann is trying to hijack the Tea Party while voting for the unpatriotic and unconstitutional US Patriot Act, which allows the federal government to spy on you without any search warrants and little oversight.

Potential GOP voters, guard your vote carefully and do not vote for a candidate just because of you poll watching where you do not want to vote for a particular candidate because you feel like your vote "will be wasted". That kind of apathy, laziness and stupidity causes elections to become jokes and popularity contests.
